This post is NOT sponsored/affiliate/etc – the following info is 100% my honest experience of Le Vietnam in Perth CBD.

We don’t mess around here so let’s get to the point – is Le Vietnam worth the hype? Categorically YES.

This Vietnamese / French fusion cafe sells the best Bành Mì around. Think fresh, crunchy but fluffy bread, flavour-packed fillings and generous portions at reasonable prices.

It’s one of those places where even if you’re full you keep thinking ‘one more bite’, then suddenly you’ve eaten the whole thing.

Coffee lovers – don’t skip on the Vietnamese iced coffee – it’s delicious and definitely strong enough to give you that much-needed afternoon coffee buzz to see you through the day.

Located in an unassuming roadside cafe at 80 Barrack Street in Perth CBD, it’s easy to miss if you aren’t purposefully looking for it. Look for the black sign and a handful of outside seating.

The interior is cosy and funky all in one go but seating is limited, especially considering how busy it can get at Le Vietnam so don’t count on being able to grab a table unless you turn up early.

The owner, DJ Lee is a world travelling DJ turned cafe owner who could define the idea that passion and hard work can equal success.

He’s a smart guy with a double degree and a realisation that a computer-bound desk job wasn’t for him. He loves Bành Mì so… Le Vietnam was born and the rest is history.

It’s easy to see the pride that he has in his food, even with just a quick chat with him. They make all of the bread, marinades, and pickled veggies… everything on site from scratch! With a menu that changes daily, that’s no small feat.

Now to the only negative I could find with this place – the opening hours.

Open from 10-3 Monday to Friday, it’s perfect for the city lunch crowd, but from a purely selfish perspective, I wish Le Vietnam opened on the weekends too.

But, I’ll take whatever I can get – this place will be my new failsafe weekday lunch option for when I’m in Perth city – I strongly urge you to give it a try whether you’re a local or just visiting Perth, you won’t be disappointed!

Check out Le Vietnam’s Facebook page for the menu specials coming up that day.
