The first three locations on this list are holiday parks located in the town of Kalbarri and are all under a 15-minute drive from the national park.
Expect individual sites at these locations to be smaller than the others, with the trade-off being that there are far more amenities nearby.
Kalbarri Tudor Holiday Park
A great choice for families, with a pool (unheated), a small playground and a jumping pillow on-site. The playground won’t keep the kids busy for long, but the decent Kalbarri Foreshore Playground is only a 10-minute walk, along with beaches, shops and restaurants.
Tasman Holiday Parks Kalbarri
Centrally located in Kalbarri, and right on the waterfront, this campground has great facilities for families or any campers who love a comfortable, amenity-filled stay.
There is no pool on-site, but the nearby Murchison River has many swimming spots along a 1.5 km northward stretch for a swim in calmer waters.
Kalbarri Anchorage Caravan Park
Located on the outskirts of Kalbarri town, but next to a small selection of shops and right on the water’s edge, this is a good option for a quieter, but still convenient stay.
Murchison House Station
Open from April – October.
A back-to-basics campground with an emphasis on enjoying nature, peace, and quiet. Sites are limited so overcrowding shouldn’t be an issue.
The campsite is approximately 10 minutes from both Kalbarri National Park and Kalbarri town.
Two options are available for camping: The Homestead – basic facilities, accessible with a 2WD, and a fire pit at each site.
Bush Camping – Enjoy privacy in the wilderness! Only accessible to 4WD vehicles, no amenities are available so prepare to be self-sufficient.
Kalbarri Red Bluff Tourist Park
Only a 5-minute drive south of the town of Kalbarri, and a 17-minute drive from the National Park, this campsite is a little different to the norm.
Every campsite in this small park has an en-suite (with shower, toilet and storage), is fully powered, and has more space than your average holiday park site.
The coastline in this area is quite rugged, providing great views but not the calmest swimming conditions, the Holiday Park has a pool but no playground. The location, size of the park and amenities provide a happy balance between comfort and nature camping, in a non-crowded environment.
Ajana – Kalbarri Road Bush Camping
A great choice for campers with a completely self-sufficient set-up, giving a bush camping experience nestled inland right next to the national park.
Sites are large, and details on each site are given when booking, so you can choose the right site for your needs (why don’t more places do this??)!
Reviews for this place are great so you can be confident you’ll have a great stay.
Wagoe Chalets & Camping Area
Great views but basic amenities. The campground has both powered and unpowered sites but is pretty exposed to the elements, so prepare for the possibility of a windy stay.
Some reviews mention beach access is charged as extra(?!), so confirm when booking if this is an important feature for you, especially if you are visiting for the reef fishing available nearby.
The site is nearly 30 minutes from Kalbarri National Park and around 15 minutes south of Kalbarri town.
